This is your invitation to join the fun as a Buchanan Log House Chapter volunteer and to become a member of the Buchanan Log House Chapter of the APTA!  We have a great time at all of our functions, meet new people, and we learn a lot about Donelson-Hermitage history.

Member Benefits

It isn't necessary to become a chapter member in order to volunteer, but your support would be appreciated!  Members of the BLH share a dedication to preserve and restore our historic buildings, property and collections for present and future generations.  Among other benefits, you receive:

Keeping the Buchanan Log House open and available for visitors requires volunteers for many different areas, including hospitality helpers during events (don't forget the period costumes!), help on keeping the grounds growing, historical research and committee tasks like PR and fund-raising.

After all, we are a not-for-profit organization and our life blood is in the volunteer help that we receive and the love of our members for the historical importance of the Buchanan Log House complex.

The mission of the BLH Chapter is to promote and encourage active participation in the preservation of the Donelson-Hermitage area's rich historic, cultural, architectural, and archeological heritage through restoration, education, advocacy and area wide cooperation.
